Nursing Programs
At Alabama Southern, the nursing program is taught by qualified instructors in state of the art laboratories. Individual attention and assistance is guaranteed. The college has an approval from the Alabama Board of Nursing and accreditation from the NALAC for it’s AND program.
The programs at the Alabama southern are tailor made to suit individuals with different qualifications. The LPN program course work is designed to be covered in one year. Courses taken include Fundamentals of Nursing, Pharmacology, Anatomy and Physiology, Mental health, Health assessment, Pediatric and Adult Nursing among others. A mobility program is also offered for LPN to RN.
Application Requirements
The deadline for application to the PN program is March 1st to get admitted the following fall semester and November 1st for the following spring semester. The application for students wishing to pursue the ADN program, the deadline is March 1st. For upward mobility track 1 the deadline is 1 November and 1st March for track 2. Other requirements are that an applicant must have passed the TEAS V prior to application, Minimum of 2.50 GPA based on the last 24 credit hours, among other requirements.
All applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen test and also criminal background check. Interested parties are advised to check the specific academic prerequisites for each program before application.
